Goal Attainment Scaling
This course teaches learners about goal attainment scaling, the theory behind it, how it is used, how to write a goal attainment scale (GAS), and how to measure the quality of the GAS. The course module introduces background information and concepts, followed by examples. Participants will have readings, video, interactive activities, and quizzes. Our “tell, show, do” approach allows for interactive, lively, and practical examples, tools, and readings to teach new concepts and skills for current clinicians, teachers, consultants or future trainers.

The coaching module is designed to provide a description of and examples for each of the steps implemented during the coaching sessions. Positive outcome from COMPASS result with coaching. The module introduces background information and concepts, followed by examples. Participants will have readings, video, interactive activities, and quizzes. Our “tell, show, do” approach allows for interactive, lively, and practical examples, tools, and readings to teach new concepts and skills for current autism consultants or future trainers.
What You'll Learn:
- Describe effective coaching for positive outcomes with COMPASS
- Describe outcomes when COMPASS is implemented by community- and school-based autism support professionals.
- Explain which factors are most important for effective coaching, including the amount of coaching provided and the delivery modality, such as in-person or online coaching.
- Implement the Coaching Protocol
- Conduct a self-assessment of the quality of implementation of COMPASS coaching and use this information to improve coaching skills.
- Review a case study of COMPASS Coaching
